Next, immerse yourself in the rich millennia-old culture ofSamarkandbefore hiking through the Zerafshan mountain range, located south of this iconic city. The third leg of your adventure leads you to the Nuratau Mountains, where you’ll not only marvel at stunning landscapes but also meet the friendly villagers living along your route.
A magical overnight stay in a traditional yurt beneath the starry desert sky will mark the end of your sporting adventure in Uzbekistan. But the journey doesn’t end here! The wonders ofBukharaandKhiva, two unmissable gems of the Silk Road, await to make your stay in Uzbekistan truly unforgettable.
Upon your arrival at Tashkent International Airport, our team will greet you and take you to your hotel. After settling in and some time to relax, you’ll meet your guide for your first glimpse of the city. You’ll start with a visit of the historic part of Tashkent, including the bustling Chorsymarket. Next, you’ll take the Tashkentmetro to explore the more modern part of the city. You’ll stroll through IndependenceSquare and TheatreSquare and admire other iconic landmarks showcasing Russian architecture. Free time for dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
In the morning, you’ll travel by private transport towards theTianShanRange, located just outside of Tashkent. After approximately an hour’s drive, you’ll reach the village of Khumsan, the starting point for your loop hike. Your journey will take you through the village to reach the mountain trails. As you ascend, you’ll be treated to breathtaking views ofLake Charvak, a water reservoir created in the 20th century. Several stops will be made along the way so you can fully appreciate the stunning scenery. Enjoy a picnicen routeand end this magnificent hike in the late afternoon. You’ll then be driven to your mountain bungalow for the night. Dinner and overnight stay on site.

After breakfast at your bungalow, a short transfer by private car will take you to the starting point of your hike. Today’s hike will take you on a 6-hour journey through a beautiful woodland area. You’ll start by following wooded trails before gently ascending a hill, offering spectacular views of the surrounding mountains. Continuing along a pleasant track, you’ll make your way through the scenic landscape. You’ll return to Tashkent late afternoon and catch the evening train to Samarkand. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Today it’s time to explore the legendary city of Samarkand. During the morning, you’ll visit RegistanSquare, home to three monumental buildings dating back to the 15th and 17th centuries, as well as the Bibi-KhanumMosque, built by Amir Timur in honour of his favourite wife. You’ll have the opportunity to explore the SiyobMarket before lunch. In the afternoon, you’ll visit the Shaki Zinda Necropolis, one of the crown jewels of Samarkand. Afterward, you’ll enjoy some free time for a last stroll through the city. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
This fifth day marks the beginning of two days of adventure in Uzbekistan! You’ll travel by private transport to thevillageofTersak, located in the Zerafshan Mountain Range, the starting point of your next hike (approximately 6 hours). The morning will begin with an easy walk as the trail leads you up to the surrounding hills. From there, you’ll be able to enjoy stunning views of the Tersak village oasis. A picnic in this breathtaking landscape will afford the perfect break. At the end of your wonderful hiking day, you’ll reach your local hosts’ home, where you’ll spend the night. Once settled, you can relax or join in the preparation of the evening meal. Dinner with the family and overnight in a shared house with simple comforts.

After bidding farewell to your hosts, you’ll head out to cross one of the most beautiful mountain passes in the country: theAmankutanPass, which rises to an altitude of 1,800 metres. At the summit, you’ll find a market selling spices and dried fruits, a favourite among travellers. From this point, you’ll begin today’s hike, a 5-hour loop through rocky landscapes and rugged mountains. At the end of the day, you’ll meet your drivers who will take you back to Samarkand. Upon arrival, settle in at the hotel and enjoy some free time to explore the city at your leisure. Free time for dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

The morning will be dedicated to discovering the city of Samarkand. You’ll start your day by visiting the TimuridMausoleum, one of the city’s most iconic landmarks, where the founder of the Timurid dynasty is buried. Next, you’ll explore the UlughbekObservatory and its enormous sextant, followed by a visit to the AfrosiyobMuseum, home to a stunning mural. After lunch in the city, you’ll depart by private transport for the Nuratau Mountains. You’ll arrive at your local host’s home at the end of the day, where you’ll stay for the next two nights. On the eighth day of yoursporting adventure in Uzbekistan, you’ll embark on a 5-hour hike through theNuratauMountains. Departing directly from your host’s home, you’ll first cross the village of Ukhum, providing a chance to meet the locals and learn about their daily life. Next, you’ll take a gentle climb into the mountains, all while enjoying the breathtaking landscapes around you. A picnic in the lush surroundings will offer the perfect opportunity to observe local wildlife and flora. Along the way, you’ll have the chance to admire ancient petroglyphs before descending back towards your accommodation. In the evening, you can enjoy a rest or some quiet time reading in the courtyard. Diner and overnight stay at your host’s home.

A peaceful day ahead with the exploration of nearby oases. You’ll begin with a leisurely stroll around thenaturereserve, home to over40 protected ibexes.Next, you’ll head to the mountain trails near the village of Hayat. After a picnic lunch enjoyeden route, you’ll meet up with your driver who will take you to theKyzylkum Desert. Upon arrival, once you have settled in a yurt, you can take a walk around the camp. For those interested, a camel ride is available! Dinner and concert around the campfire, featuring aKazakhsinger. Overnight stay in the yurt.

After breakfast, you’ll set off on foot towards the LakeAydarLake. This short hike (8 km) will lead you through the desert along a sandy trail. The landscapes, which are a stark contrast to those of previous days, will offer a fresh and striking perspective on your journey. Once you reach the lake, you’ll have the chance to swim or simply take a leisurely stroll along the shore. Enjoy a picnic lunch by the lake before continuing your journey to Bukhara. Along the way, you’ll stop inNurota, a city founded byAlexandertheGreat. Upon arrival in Bukhara, you’ll check into a charming hotel and have time to explore the city. Free time for dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Another day in Uzbekistan, adventure! Today you’ll explore another iconic destination along the Silk Road. Bukhara boasts over 200 historical monuments, each with a story to tell! Prepare for a day filled with remarkable discoveries as you explore ancient caravanserais (roadside inns), magnificent mosques, towering minarets, and beautifully crafted madrasas (Islamic schools) that dot the old town. Your guide will also share the fascinating history of Bukhara’s ancient irrigationsystem, which once included 108 water reservoirs. You’ll visit the historic Jewish quarter before concluding the day by relaxing around the tranquil Lab-i Hauz pool with a refreshing drink. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
Today you’ll be travelling to the city of Khiva, located 450 km north of Bukhara. The journey will take you through lush green areas and the vast KyzylkumDesert, known for its striking red sands. You’ll travel alongside the AmuDaryaRiver, which forms the natural border between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan. There will be several opportunities to stop and take stunning photographs along the way. Lunch will be enjoyed en route. Upon arrival in Khiva, you’ll settle into a charming hotel for a two-night stay.
This day is dedicated to exploring Itchan Kala, the fortified city of Khiva, home to numerous historical monuments and centuries-old houses. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the city captivates visitors with its remarkably well-preserved architecture. You’ll visit the key landmarks and learn about the significant events that shaped the city’s history. As the day winds down, you’ll enjoy some free time to wander through the city and soak in its enchanting, fairy-tale-like atmosphere. Farewell dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
